Lindon Victor made history at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games by becoming the first athlete ever to win three consecutive men's decathlon gold medals. Following his gold medal triumphs at the Gold Coast in 2018 and Birmingham in 2022, Victor secured his third straight title, delivering Grenada its first gold medal of the 2026 Games.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Lindon Victor secured the gold without practicing the high jump or pole vault at all this season due to injury.
In his post-event comments, Lindon Victor shared his deep gratitude for the support from home:
Grenada pours so much love into me and this is my way of showing love back to them. They supported me even when I messed up in multiple events. They've always had my back.
Congratulations, Lindon Victor! Thank you for making all of us here in Grenada proud and showing the world the true Grenadian spirit: small country, big hearts!
